AUDITION - ugo dehaes / kwaad bloed
for my next dance production (2013) i am looking for
3 or 4 couples
with strong contemporary technical skills and experience in professional
productions.
the audition will take place on 14 or 15 of january 2012 in leuven,
belgium.
elected couples will work from 16 to 22 of january 2012 for the final
selection.
under restriction that preproduction and funding work out well, i plan 10
weeks of rehearsals within the period nov 2012 - may 2013 (depending on the
première date).
touring is now planned in spring 2013 and mainly autumn/winter 2013. all
salaries should be according the flemish legal standards, considering your
years of experience.
in this production i will focus on partner-work:
dancers need to audition as a couple
you will work and perform all the time with the same partner!
you don't need to be a couple in life :)
couples can consist of male-male, male-female, female-female
i am interested in:
vertical work
brute force
raw material
intimacy
uncomfortable situations
martial arts
ballet-inspired lifts
slightly acrobatic material
i am less interested in floor-work
the work will include a lot of flesh, maybe nudity
you should be very comfortable with your partner under all circumstances
(within reason, of course).
the dance material of the piece will be created in close collaboration with
the dancers.
you should be able to work independently on a given task and willing to
share your creativity.
