Among the multitude
David Weber-Krebs
A mirror of seventy players.
Among the multitude invites us to restudy and rethink the way we look at ourselves and the world. David Weber-Krebs uses film, a theatre hall and seventy performers from Leuven, specially picked for this project. At first sight, it looks like an experiment in handling large groups on stage. But there's more to it. The performers are not a group. They remain a collection of individuals, their random composition a mirror image of the audience. The result is a situation where we no longer look at art, but at each other.
Combining film and live action, Weber-Krebs evokes the tension between the individual and the group, between solidarity and loneliness.
