Elsewhere #5 De Hoorn : Will Samson + Eyemèr

De Hoorn is an old industrial pearl that was renovated into a new breeding spot for creativity in Leuven. The building, dating from 1923, was designed with precise care for details and three years later the first Stella Artois was brewed. Since 2013 this former brewery combines its history with the fresh input of young, creative spirits.

The British musician Will Samson is known for his atmospheric electronic sound carpets. On his latest, fourth album Ground Luminosity he weaves minimal guitar with a thin layer of strings and electronics. His falsetto voice reminds us of Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, but Will Samson uses his voice as an extra instrument.

Ghent-based singer-songwriter Sarah Devreese presents her project Eyemèr. Her voice and an acoustic guitar is all she needs to give us goosebumps. Talent combined with melody that blow your mind.

In collaboration with 30CCErfgoedcel Stad Leuven and KU Leuven Dienst Cultuur, STUK presents Elsewhere: imaginative music framed in the rich heritage of the city of Leuven. Elsewhere is a new series of concerts on extraordinary locations in the city with artists whose music is situated on the edge of music and sound art.
This Elsewhere is organised in collaboration with De Hoorn.
