Two bodies meet one another. One body is active and takes the initiative, the other is a lifeless object. Together they dance a forced duet. An unsteady dance in which the one attempts to manipulate and animate the other into an ideal sparring partner, whether a doll or dead entity. During the sequence, the boundaries between intimacy and perversion are tested. Raphaël is an exploration into the grey areas in an otherwise apparent sharp divide, and simultaneously a poignant portrait of the mutual sense of de cit for things that bind us. A powerful performance.
