You can't take it with you

Liz Kinoshita

Liz Kinoshita draws inspiration from the ties between necessity and waste, and how such issues weigh on us physically, mentally and emotionally. How is our disposition affected when we engage in thinking about refuse or covert wastefulness?

In essence, dancers and performers need nothing more than their bodies, their voices, their experience, knowledge and practice in order to do what they do. In collaboration with Bryana Fritz, Justin Kennedy and Clinton Stringer, Liz Kinoshita goes in search of this essence. Repetitive mantras set the performance’s rhythm. Through improvisation and rapid changes Liz Kinoshita emphasises the resilience found in us all: to adapt from one moment to the next, and rid ourselves of life’s baggage.
