In SNAP XL, choreographer Talitha De Decker combines everything that is the pinnacle of dance fun: virtuoso bodies, mathematical structures, and the fat beats of ‘90s music. The result is a party that is both inviting and alienating. Combinations of disco movements flow into geometrical patterns. Waves of symmetry draw through the moving mass. Let the rhythm ride you, guide you, sneak inside you, set your mind to move.
SNAP XL is in every sense the absolute superlative of SNAP, De Decker’s graduation project of 2014. The two dancers of the original are now fourteen youngsters. Solos merge into group performances. Movement, set and music are deconstructed and put together into a new, delightful whole. SNAP XL is 90s disco for value seekers.
