White on White

Marc Vanrunxt

White on White explores the phenomenon of Grace Jones. Like no other Grace Jones takes on new images, her graphic designer Jean-Paul Goude plays a key role in this. Plundering art history, he manipulates images of the body, thus creating new mythologies. Today we speak of ‘image building’.

The two choreographers, Belgian Marc Vanrunxt and Turkish Bahar Temiz, found one another through their shared fascination with the malleability of the character. In this performance Vanrunxt goes in search of ways to stage a body: the body as part man, part woman, sphinx, animal, cyborg, alien ... Visual artist Anne-Mie van Kerckhoven and fashion designer Jean-Paul Lespagnard complete the team. The combination of these expressive and extroverted artists promises reworks!
