Flavien Berger + Marc Melià

Flavien Berger is the new star of French pop. The Paris-based singer and producer breathes new life into the traditional French chanson by mixing it with analogue electronics, colourful soundscapes and a healthy dose of neo-psychedelica. Nostalgia and science fiction go hand in hand in his dreamy songs, often seemingly nonchalant or playing with the borders of kitsch. On September 28 he released his latest album Contre-temps, which saw him sell out both Brussels’ Botanique and L’Olympia in Paris. Now he’s ready to take over the non-French-speaking world - not easy for a French artist.

Synth virtuoso Marc Melià is the perfect companion for Berger’s cosmic sounds. Born in Mallorca, based in Brussels, this composer and musician excels in nimble-fingered compositions for Prophet 8 synth and vocoder vocals, creating all sounds live on stage. His debut album Music for Prophet features repetitive compositions that, in his words, could have been composed by sensitive robots.
