Sinkane + Le Colisée

Ahmed Gallab aka Sinkane was born in London, grew up in Sudan and the USA and currently lives in Brooklyn. His global personality is translated into his music: a spicy amalgam of Sudanese pop, R&B, soul, funk, jazz, psychedelica and electronics. Fresh with a spark of nostalgia. He started his musical carreer playing synths with bands like Yeasayer and Caribou and released his debut Mars in 2012. Now there is Mean Love, a rich poppy album drenched with afrobeat, a Curtis Mayfieldesque-groove and Ahmed’s delicate falsetto. And in between, Gallab is the driving force behind Atomic Bomb!, the supergroup including Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor and Pat Mahoney of LCD Soundsystem, who revived the music of legendary Nigerian funk musician William Onyeabor in a series of mesmerizing performances.
