Une Quarantaine

Une quarantaine is a paper, rising from the stagnant water of the historically unprecedented corona crisis, a period where a brawling, swirling community is forced to anchor.

Quarantine, about 40, means not just the number of days docking ships had to wait to enter Venice in the time of the Black Death, it's also the number of artists from the wider waters of the arts who found a way to come together physically, on paper, in this edition. Every participant sails their own course in confinement, navigating through the narrow channels of this historic and cultural moment, with little more in sight than an insecure future. The visual, textual and conceptual contributions in this paper were complied by Jeroen Los, William Ludwig Lutgens and Kasper De Vos.

Participating artists:

Anna Godzina & Yannick Heeren, Anthony Colclough, Benjamin Verdonck, Chantal van Rijt, Charif Benhelima, Che Go Eun, Dennis Tyfus, Dieter Durinck, Elias Ghekiere, Ella Deburca, Els Dietvorst, Evelin Brosi & Elvis Bonier, Femmy Otten, Guy Rombouts, Henk Visch, Jeroen Los, Jura Shust, Karl Philips, Kasper De Vos, Kathe Burkhart, Koen Theys, Leander Schönweger, Liesbeth Henderickx, Maarten Van Roy, Maica Garnica, Micha Wertheim, Michaël Van Remoortere & Lies Van Loock, Michiel Burger, Michiel Vandevelde & Ward Heirwegh, Nicolas Provost, Onejoon Che & Sun A Moon, Filip Vervaet, Pieter De Clercq, Sophie Nys, Sven ‘t Jolle, Tom Lanoye, Vesna Faassen & Lukas Verdijk, Wesley Meuris, Wessel Verrijt, William Ludwig Lutgens, Wouter Poolman & Lukas Verstraete, Zena Van den Block & Idris Sevenans, Helen Anna Flanagan, Jonathan Paepens, Vincent Van Meenen
