The “deconstruction of a rock concert” is how Peter Ablinger describes his Black Series, written for clarinettist Gareth Davis and the Dutch rock trio The Julie Mittens. The influential music magazine The Wire called it “this year’s most intriguing and successful genrecrossing collaboration”.
