Alex is a girl who really wants a dog. A real, living dog. But since her parents don’t want a living pet, they give her tons of stuffed ones. One fine day, Alex throws them all in the trash. And just like Alice chases a white rabbit and ends up in Wonderland, Alex chases her stuffed animals and ends up in Trash Land.

Choreographer Maria Clara Villa-Lobos found inspiration in the magical world of Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland. With Alex in Vuilbakland she questions our throw-away society in an original and playful way, making important ecological themes understandable for kids.
