An Enchanted Process

Léone Drapeaud is a French architect and artist known for her poetic and experimental approach to architecture. She is co-founder of the collective Traumnovelle, a practice that combines architecture, art and activism. Drapeaud's work, infused with a strong feminist perspective, uses architecture as a means to question social structures and explore alternative future scenarios. She combines a poetic spatial approach with a deep-rooted curiosity. This results in projects such as Wunderkamer and The Joyful Apocalypse that are both enchanting and critical, and have a strong affinity for temporality and change.

Drapeaud and Traumnovelle approach architecture as a transformative process in which the imagination is activated and users are invited to experience spaces in new, liberating ways. Her intersectional feminist perspective enriches this theme by approaching architecture as a force for social change and empowerment. The result is a unique practice in which curiosity, intimacy, temporality and a critical eye come together to inspire wonder.

AUDITORIUM 24/25 – ARCHITECTING. Architecture as a process

Lecture series on architecture and urbanism
Curator: Hanne Van Reusel, Stad & Architectuur

When does architecture begin and does it ever end? Who participates, and how? Where does it go wrong? What role do improvisation and intuition play? And how can architecture rebel?

This lecture series explores architecture-in all its power and vulnerability-as an open and dynamic process. The focus is on the less visible aspects of practice, from idea to execution, and everything in between and beyond. Each of the guest speakers shares their vision and process in an unfiltered way, aiming to offer insights into the complexity and fragility of architectural work.
