Art of Sound #10: 1982 edition
Students of SLAC/Conservatorium Leuven take inspiration from two masterpieces created in 1982: Fase by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Thriller by Michael Jackson.
1982. Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker creates her breakthrough performance Fase to the music of American composer Steve Reich. That same year, Michael Jackson releases Thriller, a music album whose music, music videos and choreography remain among the most influential in pop history to this day. The anniversary edition of Art of Sound, the annual co-production of STUK and Conservatorium SLAC, pays experimental homage to both iconic works from the same year.
