Driven by her curiosity for other cultures and their relation to ‘movement’, the Icelandic choreographer Bára Sigfúsdóttir moved to Tehran in 2014, where she became intrigued by the inventiveness and dynamics of the local art scene. Her encounter with the inspiring artists Masoumeh Jalalieh and SeyedAlireza Mirmohammadi led to a lasting artistic affinity between them and a dance duet, being, for and with Masoumeh and SeyedAlireza.

Everyone has a body. Through that body, we focus on the world. It is something elementary that we share with others. being is an encounter between two bodies, but also between the West and the Middle East. It shows us what we share rather than emphasising our differences.
