DANSSTROOM: Amateurdansers duiken in repertoire

Non-professional dancers dive into dance repertoire with an experienced coach

Dansstroom is a project that gives non-professional dancers the opportunity to immerse themselves in dance repertoire under the guidance of an experienced coach. During the 2025–2026 school year, selected groups will work with their coach in the studio and explore the repertoire in their own way. Together, they will work towards a performance during the Body of Work festival at STUK on April 25 and 26, 2026.

After an open call aa jury selected six groups to revive dance repertoire within Dansstroom!

CompanyMG - Moving Ground

Repertoire: Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui/ Eastman - Vlaemsch (chez moi) (2022)
Dance coach: Jonas Vandekerckhove

A youth company from Antwerp with dancers from diverse backgrounds. Following Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, they explore what Flemish identity means to them through Vlaemsch (chez moi) (2022).

Due to circumstances, Moving Ground was unable to complete the full Dansstroom trajectory. As an alternative, a workshop week was created exploring the repertoire of Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, where we invited Huys Arts from Wilrijk to join Moving Ground. Together they would world with material from two of their favourite pieces: Vlaemsch (chez moi) (2022) en Foi (2003). Unfortunately, Moving Ground was not able to take part in this workshop week either. Their repertoire choice keeps showing through in the programme. On the opening night of Body of Work, Huys Arts brings a creation that bridges the two works.
