Those who are familiar with Dida know how unpredictable his music is: from pseudo funny Christmas songs and elevator music-like MIDI tunes, over bombastic grandeur à la J.S. Bach to explosive live performances with references to glam rock or post-punk. In Dida’s oeuvre, genius and childishness go hand in hand, seemingly amateurism is embedded in compositional complexity. Recently, Dida has been experimenting with a self-built instrument in which he combines a classic DJ mixer with a rustic assembly of tools, levers and a wheel. At STUK START, Dida joins forces with his companion Quinten. Together they form the maverick duo Dida & Quinten a.k.a. Mannered.
