Echoic Choir

This performance can be combined with Monstrare et/ou Monere van Milø Slayers in the frame of the new generation focus programme in STUK Soetezaal at 20:00.

With their new collaborative work Echoic Choir, vocalist Stine Janvin and choreographer Ula Sickle reference elements of rave culture and create an echo chamber that might entangle events abruptly halted by the pandemic. Instead of booming loudspeakers, pure voices – a choir that captures the space. As the group of performers surrounds the audience acoustically, physical distancing rules become artistic parameters, lighting effects act as memory flashes and analogue generated tones transform into sound that vibrates in the ear. A sensuous techno evening as a new kind of collective ritual?
