A NIGHT WITH RAVEN CHACON

On the occasion of the opening of his first solo exhibition in Belgium, internationally renowned artist and Pulitzer Prize winner Raven Chacon invites you to join him on a journey contemplating the stories landscapes hold.

The exhibition Rift Variations: Collaborative Video Works includes the videoworks Gauge, 2013-2015; Rift Transcription, 2020 (in collaboration with Candice Hopkins); Earth Mother / Father Sky, 2021 (in collaboration with Rob Thorne); and Watȟéča :: Ch’iyáán Yiskáago, 2022 (in collaboration with Cannupa Hanska Luger). Together, they are a testimony to the versatility of Chacon’s practice in which he incessantly pays tribute to mother Earth, questioning our position as human beings on this planet and our responsibility as stewards of the land.

In a special 30 min. artist talk (in collaboration with Let's Talk Leuven) Chacon will further dive into the works presented in the exhibition, giving an insight into his performative, musical and visual practice which is deeply steeped in collaboration.

The night is concluded with a live performance of the grandmaster himself.
