Electric Life (14+)

Stravinsky’s masterpiece Petrouchka inspired choreographers Elisabeth Borgermans and Thomas Vantuycom for a new dance creation featuring nine young people between the ages of 15 and 24.

However, the starting point is not the original staging from 1911 but an in-depth reading of the music. Stravinsky’s penchant for contrast, rhythm and speed is typical of modern man at the beginning of the twentieth century, when electricity and machines changed the urban landscape and energised life in every sense.
