Queen Blood

Seven powerhouse women set the stage on fire with a mix of House and Hip Hop.

We’re closing the dance season with a bang! Queen Blood, by the late choreographer Ousmane Sy, is an energetic performance with female power at its centre. Seven dancers from the all-female Paradox-Sal company share their virtuosity drawn from Hip Hop, dancehall, locking, popping, and krump, held together by the rhythmic foundation of House. Their movements are fierce, precise, and forthright about women’s freedom, empowerment, and sisterhood.

Performed over 300 times worldwide, this 2019 production arrives in Leuven on its final tour. Let yourself be swept away by a soundtrack ranging from Black Coffee to Nina Simone, the rigour of the dance, and the queens who set the stage on fire.
