Eos-gespreksavond: Extreem weer, het nieuwe normaal
Lecture / debate in Dutch
Climate experts give you a state of affairs and answer your questions.
Climate change causes more extreme weather. According to prognoses, the summers will get warmer, with more heat waves and drought. Rain showers will become more intense, winter more wet, and the risk of floods will rise.
- Where are we after the last report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change?
- Can we avoid the fact that the Earth's temperature will rise with 2 degrees?
- Can weather extremes be attributed to the changing climate?
- And how can we guard against it?
The panel consists of:
Philippe Huybrechts (VUB), climatologist and head author of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). He gives a state of affairs of the climate.
Rozemien De Troch is climatologist at the Royal Meteorological Institute (KMI) and investigates the impact of climate change on Belgian weather. What kind of weather can we expect in the coming century?
