Flamingos

In Flamingos, Spanish choreographer Albert Quesada goes in search of the origins of flamenco. Seven dancers bare their souls and shamelessly mix flamenco with pop. Bodies, desires and fears are purged to provoke a jam session full of magic and 'duende'.

In this contemporary flamenco performance Spanish choreographer Albert Quesada goes in search of the origins and essence of flamenco. What is the driving force behind this warm-blooded singing and dance form? How do you transfer this to other bodies and types of music?

On stage seven excellent dancers reveal their souls with excessive imagination and energy. Starting from the complexity, intensity and passion characteristic of flamenco, they boldly mix flamenco with references to pop culture while dancing and singing. Bodies, desires and fears are purified to provoke a jam session full of magic and ‘duende’. A ritual that lasts until the early morning ends in an exuberant celebration. Fiery, expressive, moving and funny. Olé!
