French musician, artist and Shelter Press founder Félicia Atkinson is widely acclaimed in the adventurous music scene. In her mysterious musical universe, deep listening, noise, ASMR whispers, silence, natural field recordings and electroacoustic composition float together like abstract substances. An Atkinson concert is a psychoacoustic trip that makes you forget time. In the echoing Zwartzusterkapel, she will perform a concert with voice, vibraphone, Fender Rhodes and electronics, anticipating her new album Image/Language, coming out in spring 2022.
The ensemble Merope creates atmospheric compositions immersing Lithuanian folk music in warm ambient and electronic sound experimentation. The spiritual melodies of Indrė Jurgelevičiūtė (vocals and kanklės) flow wonderfully into the unworldly guitar and synthesizer playing of Bert Cools. For their latest album Salos, released on the STROOM label, they joined forces with the 24-piece chamber choir Jauna Muzika from Vilnius. A warm and colorful listening experience that is both contemporary and deeply rooted in tradition.
