Free STUKcafé concert: Shoko Igarashi

Japanese-Belgian saxophonist blows her way through colourful electronics with influences of funk, 80s pop and fusion jazz.

The STUKcafé concerts present promising Belgian musicians in a cosy cafe setting. This time we invite sax player and composer Shoko Igarashi. Igarashi was born in Japan and now lives in Brussels. She plays tenor sax, soprano sax and flute. Her virtuoso flute sounds are combined with colourful electronics that show influences of Japanese city pop, funk, fusion jazz and anime soundtracks. She is preparing her debut album, which will be recorded with legendary producer Dan Lacksman of Telex.
