(Re)experience 20 years of Voetvolk’s movement material set to new, spontaneous live music.
A group of dancers from different Voetvolk eras perform to live music by the Ola Tunji jazz quartet. The emphasis lies on immediacy, collective risk, and a heightened state of presence within an unfolding score. Fragments from earlier group pieces are revisited as a living vocabulary. Past movement material is reframed through spontaneous composition and reactivated in the present, juxtaposed with live music rooted in both jazz tradition and innovation. The performers bring
back into play excerpts from AH/HA (2014), The Sea Within (2018), Into The Open (2022), Nomadics (2023) and WASCO! (2024).
On 02.03, you can stay for the premiere party and dance to a DJ set by Maarten Van Cauwenberghe.
On 03.03 you can enjoy a double bill with It’s going to get worse and worse and worse, my friend (20:00) and Impressions #1 (21:15).
