Inleidende workshop A Love Supreme
In the context of A Love Supreme Rosas dancer Jason Respilieux will be leading a workshop in which you'll be able to work with the basic principles from the show. Starting with John Coltrane's eponymous album, you'll discover together how the qualities of the musicians and their instruments are transformed into material for movement and how this material can engender improvised dance.
Jason Respilieux (b. Belgium, 1991) studied at the fine arts academy in Brussels and Codarts in Rotterdam before graduating from P.A.R.T.S., Brussels, in 2014. He then joined the Re-zeitung tour (a rewritten version of the Rosas piece Zeitung), organized by P.A.R.T.S., and started working as a freelance dancer for several choreographers, including Salva Sanchis (the Islands project), Ted Stoffer, and more recently Claire Croizé (Evol). Since 2016 he has been working with Baptiste Conte on a new visual art performance on the matter of coal. Respilieux is also active behind the scenes as an advisor for performances and has been mentoring students for Kunsthumaniora Brussels. He actively combines his dance career with dance education by teaching regular classes for Rosas, Kunsthumaniora Brussels, and other organizations
