“Weird Belgian music is in very safe hands”, were Bandcamp’s recent words on the new wave of bizarre, hard-hitting, pitch black Belgian bands that linger between noise rock, electroclash and performance. One band mentioned was Ghent-based power quintet Hypochristmutreefuzz, who will release their long-awaited debut album Hypnos in 2020. STUK and INUIT think it’s logical to add the phenomenon named Raveyards to the list (also from Ghent, by the way). As founders of nomadic showcase concept GHOST, including members of STAKE and Discodrunkards, Raveyards is becoming a household name in the Belgian underground scene. The trio releases no less than three EPs this year - recent singles Glue in the Dark and Fazer invite you to scratch off the wallpaper in your dark little basement.

BOLT RUIN, a new name in the Belgian dark-tronica, writes soundtracks for overgrown industrial wastelands. The young Limburg band recently released their debut on Consouling Sounds, combining leaden beats with hardcore punk energey and the delicacy of contemporary classical music. Another promising name in the dark electronica scene is Lingerwalt. The Leuven-based soundscaper will play an exclusive set of atmospheric improvisations in the beautiful wooden STUK Auditorium.
