• Lisette
Lisette is the solo project of multi-instrumentalist Simon Van Weereld. His musical journey began in 2020 with the release of his debut EP The Week 2 on Turnhout-based Gazer Tapes. After that, things went quiet. Five years and a first child later, Lisette is back with a vengeance. He has swapped the playful indie rock of yesteryear for a slightly more intimate, grandiose sound. This is clearly audible in his brand new single “Lucy”. This is also the first single from Lisette's debut album, which will be released in 2026 on On The Level. For this, he collaborated with producer Felix Machtelinckx, frontman of the Antwerp band Tin Fingers. With his captivating performances and catchy songs, he transforms every stage into a dark pub. Expect a dose of mysticism, a touch of nostalgia and a hefty dose of comfort.
• Brennt Vanneste
Those who know Brent Vanneste as the brutal force behind STAKE and Klakmatrak may be surprised by his latest solo release, Brennt, with two n's, Vanneste, and may find themselves blinking and pricking up their ears. Collection of Goodbyes – Escapades I, II & III is a glimpse into the soul of a creative wild man with a pure heart, a work that combines raw emotion with inspiring beauty from a place of stillness and isolation. Originally conceived as a single work of 58 tracks and more than 4 hours, streaming restrictions forced Vanneste to split his work into three parts, which nevertheless flow seamlessly into each other. Escapades I is now the first part to be released.Escapades I is a musical journey by a versatile and charismatic talent with an exceptional gift for stirring and moving people. Vanneste reveals himself in a potpourri of styles and genres: post-rock, soundscapes, neo-psychedelia, jazz, folk, ambient, trip-hop, singer-songwriter, downtempo, lo-fi, etc. With lush, ethereal and refined textures, Vanneste creates emotional depth, in French (Prends-moi Dans Tes Bras), English (Like A Train) or instrumentally, and even a foray into Dutch (Ik Laat Je Niet Meer Los). A prominent role is reserved for his sister Janne Vanneste, with contributions from Pelle Mächs and pianist Celine Gilles. New tracks sit alongside reworkings of music for film and television (2dezit, My First Highway), there are old songs that he finally had the courage to record, and when Vanneste has to take shelter from the advancing Israeli army during a trip to Palestine to record music for a documentary, that experience adds unbearable tension and human resilience to his music.
More than isolation, Escapades is about transformation. How we transition from one phase of life to another, and how moving on also means saying goodbye to people, relationships, friendships, parts of your own personality. Growth requires sacrifice, and Escapades bears the weight of those choices: sometimes painfully nostalgic, but also with the quiet determination to carry on, even when it hurts. More than once, Vanneste reminds us that even in the darkest times, hope and healing are possible, and he hopes that his music can be a source of support for those who need it.
Collection of Goodbyes – Escapades I, II & III is a cinematic journey that inspires, transforms and resonates intensely.
