Original trio of accordion, piano and drums with members of Sonic Hug, ALIGAGA and Kreis.
Sumooi is the newborn project of Daniel Jonkers (Sonic Hug, N∆BOU), Leonard Steigerwald (ALIGAGA, BSFOE) and Stan Maris (Kreis, Kin Gajo).
Their music sets out to explore a variety of musical textures ranging from quiet and intimate atmospheres to more rhythm-driven pieces. The rather unusual combination of instruments creates an intriguing blend of sonorities inviting the listener to contemplate. Style wise one can recognize influences of Scandinavian artists like ADHD or Skuli Sverrisson and Belgian artists like Joachim Badenhorst or Ruben Machtelinckx.
November 14th 2025, they released their first, self-titled EP on Off Record label, Belgian home for jazz and experimental music.
