Jazz op zondag: Vagos Kwintet
Virtuoso, interactive and full of harmonies: present their album Nani live for the first time.
Vagos Quintet presents their album Nami for the first time at STUK Leuven as part of Jazz on Sunday.
Written by guitarist and bandleader Casimir Ostyn, the music consists of a flowing series of compositions inspired by musical traditions from different cultures, modern jazz, and classical music. Nami - Japanese for “wave” - symbolizes both the way sound and music travel through space and the sometimes unpredictable waves of life. While individual virtuosity plays an important role, the music is equally driven by interaction and dialogue, at the heart of the jazz tradition. Vagos Quintet is one of the new jazz groups that succeeds in bringing the magic of jazz to life and sharing it with audiences in an open and accessible way.
