Launch Counterpoint KU Leuven
An insight into the current projects and ambitions of Counterpoint, KU Leuven's new interdisciplinary center for dance.
Last year, on the opening night of the Body of Work festival, KU Leuven proudly announced Counterpoint, a new interdisciplinary research centre dedicated to advancing the study of dance and choreography in all its dimensions and forms.
Counterpoint creates a broad, inclusive space where scholars, practitioners, and the general public converge to deepen their understanding of dance as an art form, a movement practice, and a cultural phenomenon. The centre embraces professional and amateur dance practices alike, valuing all forms of expression without hierarchical distinction.
Now, one year later, we warmly invite you to join us for a presentation in which the driving forces behind Counterpoint will share what they have accomplished so far, offer a look at the current projects, and outline the key milestones and ambitions ahead. This is an opportunity not just to listen, but to engage — to ask questions, share perspectives, and enter into dialogue about the work and future of the centre.
