Open residency presentations STUDIOS graduates P.A.R.T.S.

At the end of June 2021, the first generation of students graduated from the P.A.R.T.S. STUDIOS, the new Master’s programme at the Brussels contemporary dance school under the direction of Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker. For two years, fourteen young choreographers and dance makers from all corners of the world followed a trajectory in which they developed their own research and creations.

An unexpected pandemic challenged the programme, but that did not stop them from shaping their creative voice and practice in difficult circumstances, behind closed doors. However, they were cut off from live encounters with an audience and the community that brings the artistic work to life.

STUK welcomes the graduating Master students of the STUDIOS programme at P.A.R.T.S. for a collective residency in September. During one week, the graduates will look back on their graduation works and research, share collective practice, and enter into dialogue with workspaces and alternative management offices about their future plans in the professional field.

On Wednesday and Thursday, the students open the doors for short (walk & talk) presentations followed by a moderated talk. The sessions revolve around four themes that have formed a common thread throughout their graduation works: the exhausted body, the notion of landscape, theatricality and the relation to an audience.

STUK and P.A.R.T.S warmly invite you to the Open STUDIOS to watch different excerpts of the graduation works and enter into a conversation with the students.

Open STUDIOS is aimed at professionals, peers and an engaged audience.
