Playground 2024

Playground provides an annual platform for artists who do not commit to one discipline, artists working at the interface between stage and visual arts. Within the programme of this unique arts festival, installations, film, role-playing, tours and choreography merge into challenging performances that bring objects and bodies together. Playground remains a haven for encounters and experimentation. Artists explore new forms, and reflect on art, the world, and our place within it. Often new work, always exciting. This year also a BREAKFASTCLUB on Friday morning.

This eighteenth edition of Playground, from 14 to 17 November, includes 8 Feet Dance by Violaine Lochue, an eco-feminist fable that has its Belgian premiere in STUK. Another Belgian premiere in STUK is crowdkill by Antony van Gog, where a performer explores the bodily limits to the tone of an intense bass soundscape. M celebrates premieres as well: An Verstraete investigates new ways to watch visual arts in Holly makes a museum, Reyhan Lál challenges traditions with The Stranger, Coraline Guilbeau makes us question our senses with Viewing Room and Linda Jasmin Mayer creates hybrid bird people in Dove fermarsi?
