Re:collect - Meeting moments

STUK is looking for your dance memories.

Do you keep your tickets from memorable dance performances? Do you make a note after an enjoyable evening of dance? Do you still have programme booklets at home? A photo or poster on the wall? Is there a movement from a performance you can instantly recreate, or a scene that will stay with you forever?

We’re collecting your dance memories and present them in an exhibition at Body of Work, our festival of living dance heritage, from 25 April to 13 May 2026. The exhibition will be built entirely from the collective archive of the audience, placing you — the dance audience — in the spotlight.

How does it work?

Step 1: Dive into your memory and your cupboards!

Do you have memories of dance performances? These can be vivid, clear stories, but also small, vague details, praises or critical thoughts. What has stayed with you the most?

Do you have a physical object connected to the memory? Dig through your memory box and see if you can find something related to dance, such as tickets, programs, photos, or school assignments.

Step 2: Share your memory with us

Found a memory? Share it with us! You can do this during one of our three collection sessions. At these sessions, you’ll sit down with us, and we’ll take the time to carefully record your memory.

Thursday 12.03 15:00 - 17:00 (after the performance Holders)
Sunday 22.03 15:00 - 17:00
Tuesday 31.03 18:00 - 20:30 (before the performance every_body)

Can’t make it to the collection sessions? Sign up via this form, and we’ll get in touch for a short conversation.

Step 3: Find your memory in the exhibition

During the Body of Work festival, your memory will be displayed in an exhibition at the STUK Studio. Come by and see if you can find it!
