Return Fire — CANCELLED

PERFORMANCE CANCELLED

Unfortunately, the company has to cancel the performance. Despite a positive evaluation, Husk Husk did not receive project subsidies for the production, and without the financial support they cannot realise the creation.

There will be no new date for this performance. All tickets will be refunded automatically, ticket holders will be contacted directly. Do you have questions or remarks? Please mail us at ticket@stuk.be. We apologise for the inconvenience.

'This is me, this is what I stand for.' With our quest for deeper self-knowledge, we think we can find direction and live more freely. But is that really so?

In Return Fire, two dancers make frantic attempts to understand themselves better. Dancers Sung Im Her (Needcompany) and Martha Martha Pasakopoulou (Tino Sehgal, Marina Abramović) perform deeply human transformations: they oscillate between wild, ecstatic, seemingly uncontrolled dance and neurotically structured choreography. Belgian electronic music duo Husk Husk, American singer-songwriter and poet Mike Doughty (Soul Coughing, Ghost of Vroom) and avant-garde musician Andrew Livingston (Ghost of Vroom) join them on stage. With their compositions, balancing between melancholic minimalism, warm, psychedelic sampling and ecstatic polyrhythms, they propel the dance.
