STUKcafé-concert x Kortfilmfestival: Nele De Gussem (visuals: Victor Verhelst)

Nele De Gussem has delivered a wonderful solo debut with The Loom of Longing (VIERNULVIER records): a divinely harmonious universe of mystical pop, psychedelic ambience and pulsating electronics. She now gives full rein to her sensual voice and electronic/analogue instruments, which no longer function as cogs in the larger machine that is her band Uma Chine.

The album is perfect for a live performance, with visuals by Victor Verhelst – the graphic artist who fell into a multicoloured cauldron of magic potion as a child. Sounds are converted into colours; timbres merge with textures, 90s computer games get revived and patterns dance to the rhythm of the music, resulting in a truly compelling experience in a unique set design by the Belgian visual collective Spacemakers.

Nele De Gussem will be presenting her audiovisual show with Victor Verhelst live at STUKcafé as part of the 31st edition of Kortfilmfestival Leuven. And it's completely free!
