Tender Men

A moving, spherical and sensual bromance.

Tender Men fascinates and confuses, provokes and triggers somewhere on the boundary between bro, bromance and romance. The performance highlights the ambiguity between the rough and the sensual. In his new dance performance, Koen De Preter creates a universe in which masculinity and its sensitivity are central. He wants to address the necessity of touch and wonders how men would interact with each other in a world without homophobia.

Tender Men is a choreography for four performers with different dance backgrounds and identities. Their unique personalities contrast and complement one another and combine toughness with tactility. We see the fearlessness of touch and the poetry of caring in an intimate way. Men daring to be vulnerable.

Koen De Preter is both choreographer and performer. He experiments with forms and audiences and moves between different circuits. The search for a balance between abstraction and theatricality in dance together with eclectic soundtracks form a constant in his creations. After more intimate work like the curated evening Solo Night and his solo DANCING, it is now time for a bigger performance with an international cast.
