TH LNG GDBY • Studio STUK
For TH LNG GDBY choreographer and visual artist Tuur Marinus starts from the legendary goodbye concert The Long Goodbye by the electro-rock band LCD Soundsystem in 2011 in New York. While nine dancers interweave their bodies into complexe choreographic movement-tapestries, they create sound patterns with their voices in which abstracted versions of the original songs appear. The result is a visual performance, both elegant and clumsy, lyrical and stuttering, precise and undefined.
TH LNG GDBY is both a tribute to a grand moment in pop music history, and an intriguing meditation on past and future ways of intense togetherness.
