Alex Schuurbiers - On the verge of silence, on the verge of song
18.08.2026 — 21.08.2026
Alex Schuurbiers develops an audiovisual installation about female seaweed collectors in India.
During this residency in STUK, Alex works on the optical sound of the 16mm projections. She lets the images developed with seaweed resonate with the dreamy guitar sounds of Bert Dockx, and investigates how they can be woven into field recordings and interviews, trying to come to a layered composition of image and sound.
Music: Bert Dockx
Sound recording: Thomas Jillings
