Alice Van der Wielen-Honinckx - The Annunciation
23.03.2026 — 03.04.2026
Together with dance artist Maria Ferreira Silva, Alice Van der Wielen-Honinckx queers the motif of the Annunciation and the art that has depicted it for centuries.
By transforming traditional ecclesiastical forms into a hybrid between installation and performance, Alice and Maria see in this religious motif the possibility of transforming a patriarchal pedestal into a symbolic lever for emancipation — and a fascinating bridge between religious heritage and contemporary biotechnology.

Alice Van der Wielen-Honinckx (Brussels, 1989) is a performance maker, dramaturge, and somatic practitioner. Through slow choreography and collaboration with other artists, she creates poetic spaces that invite rest, intimacy, and alternative ways of imagining beyond the pressures of neoliberal patriarchy—spaces nourished by deep time and by relationships of care that extend across human and more-than-human worlds.
