Audrey Merilus - Moved by the Memories of Affects

28.09.2026 – 11.10.2026

"During my residency at STUK, I will be developing my upcoming project, Moved by the Memories of Affects, which unfolds into a dreamlike realm inhabited by dance, images, and distortion. From choreographic writing to visual materials, sensory elements, and sound textures, she explores a space crossed by flows, memories, and affects. This approach becomes a physical ground where her questions materialize, turning the body into a site of apparitions, incarnations, expressions, and transformation."

Audrey Merilus is an artist based between Brussels and Paris. She studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon (CNSMDL), before obtaining her bachelor’s degree in dance from the Training Cycle at P.A.R.T.S. She has worked with various international productions and artists, including: Soa Ratsifandrihana, Gisèle Vienne, Florentina Holzinger, Maud le Pladec, Michiel Vandevelde, and Rosas for the revival of Drumming.

As an extension of her artistic journey, Audrey’s evolving practice has extended into curation. For the tenth edition of Radiant Nights at DeSingel (Antwerp), she was invited as a guest curator and initiated the itinerant project Collective Memories (2023), a program in which she invited several artists to share their work during two evenings composed of performances, literature, visual arts, textiles, and sound. In December 2025 she hosted the second edition in Atelier 210 (Brussels).

Alongside her commitment to various artists, she begins her first choreographic project with Moved by the Memories of Affects (working title).

From September 2026, she becomes the associated artist of La Menagerie de Verre, Paris.
