Cassiel Gaube - Soirée d’études

In Soirée d'études Cassiel Gaube extends the research from his solo Farmer Train Swirl - Étude, creating a trio that investigates the rich vocabulary of house dance in a series of études.

An étude, musically speaking, is a composition meant to explore and experiment with the possibilities of a certain technique, such as the way house dance is practiced. Together with Yonas Perou and Federica Miani, two experience Paris street dancers, Cassiel wants to reveal the literacy this practice requires and produces.

Cassiel Gaube is a dancer and choreographer who graduated from P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels in 2016. In recent years, Cassiel has focussed on learning and practicing house dance in the lively club scenes in Paris and New York. He now makes creations on the border between contemporary dance, hiphop and clubbing. His creations are the result of carefully moving back and forth between this resilient eco system of practices, of experimenting with the present forms and inventing new ones.

Cassiel Gaube recently created the solo Farmer Train Swirl - Étude, an embodied and subjective investigation of house dance. The piece premiered at the End of Winter Festival in Arts Centre BUDA (Kortrijk) in February 2019, and has been shown both in theatres and clubs. He is artist in residence at La Ménagerie de Verre in Paris in 2019 and 2020.

As a teacher, Cassiel Gaube is a regular guest for professional trainings and workshops in dance studios like DansCentrumJette, La Raffinerie - Charleroi danse, P.A.R.T.S. SummerSchool in Brussel s and La Ménagerie de Verre in Paris.
