Anna Karenina Lambrechts - From Gravity To Grace
24.01.2025 — 31.01.2025
Anna Karenina Lambrechts continues working on her energetic dance solo that is an ode to the power of mixed identity
During this residency, Anna Karenina Lambrechts continues to work on her creation From Gravity To Grace, a powerful dance solo in which she takes the audience on an emotional journey - a return to her roots, seeking understanding, acceptance and ultimately transformation. This performance is an ode to how a mixed identity can be, above all, a great strength.
From Gravity To Grace reveals a unique and personal dance language that transcends the boundaries of styles, cultures and time. Krump, traditional Filipino dance and contemporary dance are not only intertwined but also deconstructed. Anna Karenina breaks with their traditional frameworks to create an entirely new movement language that reflects her multifaceted identity.
In her dance, Anna Karenina moves between the earthly and the heavenly, where attachment and detachment alternate. She seeks ways to embrace the various dance forms she wears, telling a story of inner strength, connection and transformation. From Gravity To Grace will premiere on 3 April 2025 at STUK.
