Radouan Mriziga / A7LA5 - Atlantis / the Sea

Atlantis / the Sea is the third and final part of the trilogy and creative cycle in which Radouan Mriziga explores landscapes and ecosystems. Following Atlas / the Mountain and Magec / the Desert, this new creation engages with the environment of the sea as a living source of knowledge.

We will delve into the sea, not only as a physical space but also as a symbolic and connecting force, as a dynamic landscape made up of complex interactions between air temperature and ocean currents. After the land itself, the sea is the second major space through which people have moved in order to create connections with one another. Since the earliest civilizations, the sea has served as a channel for the exchange of goods, cultures, and knowledge. Moreover, it carries mystical connotations, fueled by its immeasurable depth, vastness, and unpredictability, which evoke both fascination and fear.

The sea as a place through which cultures, art, and stories are constantly interwoven. The Mediterranean Sea, in particular, plays a crucial role in this context as a bridge between different civilizations. For centuries, it has been a crossroads connecting the coasts of Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

Atlantis / the Sea is the last part of the trilogy about landscapes and the ways they can generate choreography. In this creation, Andalusian music will take a central place. The performance, suitable for main stage and medium-sized theatres, brings together six dancers and a small ensemble of three musicians.
