Wanda Zúñiga - Des-aparción: Crónica de una pérdida
01.06.2026 — 05.06.2026
This dance work explores death with a specific focus on the disappearance of the "material body." My research asks: What happens to the body after death? How do those who remain stop perceiving the physical presence of a loved one, and what does that process of sensory adjustment look like?
In the original 2019 version, I explored resilience and the brain’s chemical reactions to loss. Enriched by my Master’s studies, I now want to deepen this by focusing on "material disappearance", the loss of perceiving another through sight, sound, smell, and touch. I am also re-evaluating whether technological tools, like the video mapping I used previously, still align with the core of the piece.
