Ella-My Blomdahl & Wolfa Collective - Way Away
31.03.2025 — 11.04.2025
An exploration of the concept of a fluid existence that moves between speculative, collective, and hybrid forms of bodies.
Way Away is an ‘expanded’ dance project by Ella-My in collaboration with Wolfa Collective, focusing on the interconnectedness between the 'human' body and 'the other.' The project explores the concept of a fluid existence that moves between speculative, collective, and hybrid forms of bodies. It delves into the idea of our appearance as a meeting point where the self and the other come together. Where does one end and the other begin?
The artists investigate, through the fusion of disciplines, the concept of ‘posthuman erotics’, where practices and theories to ‘blur boundaries’ in encounters with ‘the other’ are central. In this context, erotics transcends the sexual, and is embodying the potential for boundary dissolution in the meeting with “otherness”—with the potential for a shared, deep sense of joy and pleasure.
Working transdisciplinarity the collective aims to create both raw and radical expression as well as encompassing the sensual and subtle. Influenced by folkloric and religious hymn motifs, experimental approaches are combined with electronic sounds to create an immersive experience. The project will offer a divine concert filled with pleasure, narcissistic beings, shame, love, ambiguity, (nonsense), the sacred and the profane, the unknown, and something yet to be discovered.

Ella-My Blomdahl (°1999) is a choreographer, dancer, performer and researcher from Stockholm (SWE), based in Antwerp (BE). She comes from a circus background and studied dance at NEFCD and RCA, currently she is finalizing the Master at RCA. She has earlier developed several own and collaborative works as a.o Ditch Dance, Flesh run, and PUCK. Ella-My is researching and developing the concept of ’posthuman erotics' and its potential to develop speculative bodies. She is working around the notion of "bodies of many" and how to develop queer and horizontal practices. Ella-My is also one of the founding members for the emerging transdisciplinary platform 'Wolfa Collective'.
Wolfa Collective is a multi-disciplinary artist collective with the aim to enhance a platform for experimental and collaborative work. Our goal is to present works based on horizontal creation and presentation methods and to work with the notion of a shifting queer space (queer as in the potential of ’workings’ allowed to keep on transforming as a format).
