Soetezaal
The large performing arts hall in STUK plays a central role in the operation of the arts center. This monumental hall, executed in oiled concrete with a striking zigzag pattern in bas-relief, features a fixed seating area. The space is ideally suited for seated concerts, dance and theater performances.
Rental of the Soetezaal to outside parties is rather exceptional due to its busy in-house programming and residency operation. Requests for events should therefore be made at least 3 months in advance, if possible.
CAPACITY
215 people seated with direction in the auditorium - 221 people seated without direction in the auditorium (grandstand).
SURFACE
440 m², scene of 12m by 12m.
CATERING
Not possible in the auditorium.
ENTRANCE
The hall is located on level 2 - block F, at the back of STUK, adjacent to the courtyard.
- Entrance along Naamsestraat: take the stairs down towards the reception area or courtyard. Go through the reception doors. Cross the courtyard, Take the second entrance on the left.
- Entrance along Schapenstraat: take the stairs to the courtyard level. Turn right under the Soete Hall. Continue along the above road.
ACCESSIBILITY
The auditorium is accessible through STUKcafe and the stage of the Soetezaal accompanied by a responsible STUK staff member. Chairs can be removed at the top of the stage, there is room for 3 wheelchairs there. Depending on the arrangement on stage, there is also room for a few chairs at the very front. No chairs can be removed here; wheelchair users then take their seats in the front row.

- The hall is offered blank, including basic lighting and sound equipment in the price.
Depending on demand, we provide additional technical material via hire.
With additional working hours in direction for set-up, permanence and dismantling.
