Beyond Music is a laboratory for performative sound art and music in a spatial context. This third edition presents four pieces, three of which are premieres! Transdisciplinary maker David Helbich creates a new group performance that invites the audience to interact with one another and with the environment. Visual artist Maika Garnica takes a new step in her oeuvre by combining her self-made sound objects with video. A third premiere comes from Portugese Xavier Paes, whose location piece Berrante will make the Zwartezuster Chapel resonate creating a choreography of wooden poles. Finally, Slovak musician Jonáš Gruska makes use of turning megaphones to spatialise his hypnotising listening pieces.

The performance of Jonas Gruska is a co-presentation by STUK - House for Dance, Image & Sound (Leuven) and De Player (Rotterdam).
