Cinna Peyghamy is a French percussionist of Iranian origin. This heritage is important as he plays the tombak, a traditional Persian instrument, and draws on the complex rhythms of Iranian music. What sets him apart is his ability to combine these virtuoso tombak rhythms with a modular synthesiser. By connecting the tombak and the synth, he creates hybrid sounds where the acoustic and the electronic, tradition and innovation, merge. Peyghamy's compositions are energetic and explosive, sometimes repetitive, sometimes fragmentary, taking listeners on a hypnotic journey that is both meditative and danceable. In spring 2026, he will release a new album on Nicolás Jaar's record label, Other People.
